District Meeting Notes from Aug 9

August 22, 2026 - Post 12 will be hosting and assisting the Boy Scouts with a Flag Retirement Ceremony. Please plan to attend, 0900, Saturday, 22 August at the post.

July 29, 2026 - Command Sgt Maj Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home A heartfelt thank you to the American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary for their generous donation of so many delicious snacks for our veterans at CSM Bennie  Adkins State Veterans Home! Your kindness and support help brighten our veterans days and reminds them how much they are appreciated.

July 29, 2026 - This year’s Veterans Retreat will be held October 30 through November 1, 2026, at the 4-H Center in Columbiana. Volunteer opportunities will be announced in early September. The announcement will include volunteer request procedures and the appropriate point of contact. Donations are vital to ensuring the continued success of the retreat and maintaining a high-quality experience for all participants. Districts, Posts, and individual members are encouraged to make tax-deductible donations in support of this important program. Gifts of any amount are sincerely appreciated, and 100% of all contributions will directly benefit the retreat. Checks should be made payable to Veterans Retreat and mailed to: Department of Alabama, Attention:  Adjutant Ryan Marshall, P.O. Box 1069, Montgomery, AL 36101.
